[Oh, yeah, no. Evangeline is up out of her chair in a second and coming over to hold Azul steady before he can fall over.]

I think maybe you should be resting now actually??

[Azul ends up leaning against Eva and the counter, breathing harsher than before. As much as he despises showing weakness, he may be forced to concede that something is seriously wrong with him here.

... In a minute. But first, in the list of priorities that Azul's brain decides to focus on--]

Get some oven mitts and... take that out. [He makes a wand-wavey sort of gesture towards the oven.] The food's gonna burn otherwise if left to stay in there like that...

[Food going to waste is a loss he will not appreciate.]

Got it.

[She quickly puts on some oven mitts to take the food out and set it aside. She'll figure out what to do with it later, but for now -

After she shuts the oven, she scoops Azul up into a princess carry, tentacles and all.]

Wh--wait, wait, what are you doing!?

[Azul, flustered, flails a little in this sudden bridal hold, eyes quickly darting around as if to check to make sure no one else is around to see this.

Not that he's against his very cool and very strong girlfriend holding him. But it is going to be extremely embarrassing if any other students happen to walk in, especially while he's half octopus.]

Carrying you to bed, of course. Just rest, I'll take care of you.

[And off they go. Evangeline, for one, does not give a shit if any other students are around, her focus is on Taking Care of Boyfriend.]

[Azul, unfortunately, has skewed priorities in this regard--they get lucky in that there are no other students around when they first step out of the kitchen, but one of his hands manages to come up to grip her arm from where he's being carried. He has a genuine look of panic, anxious he listens intently for anyone potentially coming toward their direction as he speaks in a hushed tone.]

Just--make sure no one sees me until we get to my dorm room. I can't have anyone else seeing me in like this, I can't. Please...

[It then occurs to him that this would be easier if maybe he had texted Jade or Floyd to clear a path, but luckily, as if he somehow summoned them just by thinking of them, the person who comes around the corner is in fact Jade, who starts to say something upon spotting the two of them.

... Only to immediately close his mouth and immediately turn back in the other direction swiftly as he speaks to another person that had been following him, blocking the other student's sight in time from seeing Eva and Azul.]

"Oh, Trey-san, I just remembered that we left something important in the lab. Come with me for a moment, won't you?"

[And redirecting Trey away, but not before he takes out his phone with one hand to probably text Floyd, and giving Eva a slight nod to go ahead and take Azul back toward the mirror that leads to Octavinelle now that this path is clear.]

[Sometimes it hurts her heart how self-conscious Azul is still. But she's not great at talking about that kind of thing - about delicate emotions at all, really - so all she can do is nod back at Jade and carry Azul to the mirror.

She keeps quiet and alert for signs of other students until they're at his dorm room, at which point -]

Oh, I'll need you to unlock it.

[...she's not putting him down to do that.]

[Azul will have to remember to give both of the twins a raise on their next paycheck, or whatever they end up wanting instead in order to pay them back for keeping other students from noticing him in this state.

By the time they reached Azul's dorm room, a few more tentacles have, well, popped and at this point he's not really able to fight it like before. Thankfully he's able to reach for his magic pen in his pocket and do a quick, mumbled spell that unlocks the door for them rather than fumbling with his keys.]

[Gently, carefully, she takes him over to the bed and rests him on it, before leaning down to lightly kiss his forehead.]

Now get plenty of rest. I absolutely don't want to see you out of bed until you're fully well again, understood?

[Azul looks like he wants to argue when he's first set down on the bed, but then she kisses against his forehead and it stops whatever argument he wanted to make in its tracks. He doesn't really want to worry her, after all.]

... Fine.

[He sighs, leaning back against the pillows he has here. His tentacles seem to finally stop writhing about the place, lying limp on or hanging over the sides of his bed here.]

I suppose someone will need to grab the food we left in the school's kitchens... and I'll need to send Floyd and Jade instructions on what needs to be done in my absence, for any tasks they might not be aware of already.

[If she goes back to get the food, will he try to get out of bed the second she's not watching him? -She decides she'll trust him to stay put.]

I can get the food. After you've messaged Floyd and Jade, try to get some sleep. I'll be here when you wake up.

[Even if he wants to try to get up again, there's a chance that he would just end up in a pile of useless limbs on the floor because of no longer having human legs, just all tentacles here. As such he has no choice but to lie here until he can do something about that.]

Mm... [there's a pause, before he glances to her again with a frown] My apologies, once again, for this awkward display putting off our dinner plans.

You don't have to apologize to me for being exhausted. We'll have dinner some other time.

[She's way more concerned about him than about her plans having been changed.]

-I'll be right back, getting the food won't take long. Love you.

[Still, despite being told he doesn't have to apologize, he can't help but hunch in his shoulders a little here--he can't help but feel, well, lame, for having such an embarrassing event occur in the form of losing control over his octomer form. It's honestly kind of a relief that no one else except Eva or Jade saw it, if it had happened in front of other students, Azul might have legitimately had a freak out over it.

Still, it's far too easy to accidentally get too deep into his own head thinking about how pitiful and stupid he must look even if logically he knows that Eva does not think that of him in this state... but, he takes a breath, and manages to calm down for a moment as he responds sincerely.]

Okay... I love you too.

[She blows him a kiss, and then out she goes to fetch the food from the kitchen. Ideally, she won't run into anyone on the way there, or if she does, the tweels who she can be honest about the situation with. This shouldn't take too long...]

[She does run into a tweel eventually--specifically, Floyd, who comes sprinting from around another corner and just barely refrains from crashing right into her.]

"Hey! Jade told me that something was happening with Azul, something about popping a tentacle?"

[Oh hey, the tweels use the same wording Eva did from earlier, good to know that great minds think alike??]

[Thank goodness for her excellent reflexes, honestly.]

Oh, Floyd. -Yeah, he's super worn out and started sprouting tentacles in the middle of making dinner. I've committed him to bedrest for right now.

"Aww man, are you telling me I already missed getting to see all of them popping out like that? That sucks, I wanted to see what that looked like as it was happening..."

[... Gee, thanks Floyd.]

"Do you know if he said anything about if the Lounge is still gonna be open tonight?"

[She can't really judge him, it did look very cute.]

He said he was going to message you instructions for what to do in his absence, so I assume so. -Also, like, does the Lounge close for anything short of a calamity? I figured he'd say something like, 'as long as there are enough customers to make a profit then the lounge is open' or something like that.

"... Yeah, you're not wrong about that, he totally is the type that would insist that it should still be open. Even that one time when--oh, speak of the devil."

[Floyd's phone suddenly buzzes, and with a lazy gesture he fishes it out of his pocket to check his messages, and sighs.]

"Yep, there it is. Sounds like he's going to throw a fit if I try to skip out and visit him in his squishy Azul state instead of working... unless maybe I can get Jade to cover me..."

He'll still be mad, I don't know if it's worth it. But you've seen him squishy before, right? It's just that but in a bed and grumpy.

[Nothing huge, in her opinion.]

[And just like that, it seems that Floyd is experiencing one of his mood swings as he actually pouts at that, and pokes at Evangeline's shoulder here as he speaks.]

"Yeah, but it's been soooooo long since we got to see him squishy! You're the only one he seems to ever be willing to be seen in his better form for anymore!"

Sorry, girlfriend privileges. You could try flirting with him about it and see if that works, but he might just think it's weird coming from you.

"Yeah, that would be super weird... but it would be really funny to see the look on Azul's face if I actually tried one of your lines on him like that, Anglerfishie! In fact, I should try it when Jade's around too, he'd enjoy the opportunity to fluster Azul as well..."

[Oh no what have you done Eva, he's absolutely going to try to flirt with Azul just for shits and giggles to see what happens...]

[On the one hand, she should probably regret putting this idea into his head. On the other hand:]
