[Floyd gives a lazy wave, letting her go as he finally saunters off in the direction of Mostro Lounge. Evangeline should be able to get the food from the school's main kitchens where they had been cooking and come back to Octavinelle without running into anyone else, thankfully.
Upon arriving back to Azul's room, however, Azul is no longer lying on the bed... there is, however, a trail of what looks like ink that appears to be on the bed and trailing over the side and under the bed... it looks like someone tried to squeeze themselves under the bed looking for a tight dark spot to be in.]
[It's kind of hard to see much under here given... the amount of tentacles taking up space trying to fit his whole body under the bed, but after a moment there's a shifting of movement, and the tentacles move out of the way enough to allow Azul's eyes to be seen. It seems more of his octopus traits have come out during Eva's absence, such as how the pupils of his eyes have narrowed slightly to appear more octopus-like than human, his innate magic causing them to glow a sort of ethereal blue in the darkness under the bed.]
[Oooh, her extra handsome boyfriend. It really is a shame he's like this because he's tired and stressed, she can't properly appreciate it like she would otherwise.]
[One of his tentacles slips out under the bed, sliding across one of her hands in a gesture that conveys that he is pleased having her back, despite his words. He'll come back out... in a minute. Maybe two. He doesn't really have the energy to do it right this second.]
Was... was the food alright? It was still there and able to be taken care of, right?
[There's a bit of a lull in silence, the only sound being his tentacles sliding about here and there, before he speaks again, this time sounding sheepish.]
I, ah... I can explain why I'm under here. It's not because of cowardice or anything like that.
[Though she probably doesn't actually need to be told that, but he assumes that she's probably wondering why he's hiding under the bed regardless.]
[He just has to rearrange his tentacles a bit here before he's able to crawl out from under the spot he had wedged himself into under the bed. Somehow he manages to not send anything crashing to the floor despite his size, only causing the bed to rattle and hit the wall briefly before he's finally pulling himself up to sit on the edge of the bed as best as he can in his merform.
As Eva can see now, he seems to have completely transformed over without any human appendages left, although his gray skin is still too pale in comparison to his normal healthy gray and purple when he's in his merform. His glasses have fallen somewhere, and while he normally doesn't use them in merform, he squints a fair bit like as if his sight is still not that great at the moment, or maybe it's just the fever and exhaustion making his eyes do that.]
[She'd be more excited to see him like this if he was a healthy color and not so obviously exhausted, but she still does appreciate the view. She sits down next to him and gently leans into his side.]
[One of his tentacles wraps around Evangeline's waist to hold her against his side here, while another attempts to curl lazily around one of her ankles from where it sits against the floor.]
Dinner may not have gone to plan... but this feels nice right now...
[There's never a time when she doesn't want to cuddle up with her boyfriend. She presses a warm kiss to his cheek, settling more of her weight against him.]
I'm happy spending time with you even without a fancy dinner, you know that.
Mm, I know. Still, I had been looking forward to showing you my skills from the Culinary Crucible... I suppose we'll have to try again when I'm not under the weather.
[and not after doing a million other things that leave him so exhausted he either forgot to take his human form potion or somehow missed an important ingredient for it]

Please do that when I'm around too, that sounds hilarious.

[There's suddenly a buzz of a phone again... but this time it's Evangeline's phone, with a text from Azul.]
Yu've ben gon while. where r u?
[... man Azul must be really not feeling well if his texting is starting to look this sloppy as opposed to his usual formal texts.]

Talking to Floyd, sorry. I'll be back soon.
Well, Azul misses me, so I better hurry up. I'll see you later, Floyd.

Hmmm, where could my handsome boyfriend have gone off to?
[Peeking underneath the bed.]

... Oh. Good, you're back.

Here I am. Sorry to keep you waiting.

[She gives his tentacle a gentle, reassuring squeeze.]
You can just relax now.

[That's why she would crawl underneath a bed, anyway.]

[There's a pause, and then--]
... Wait, what's a weighted blanket?
[they don't have those in the ocean]

[...Not any time today, she imagines.]

Ah, excuse me. I'll come out in just a moment...

[So maybe tonight is not a complete wash.]
