[Danny almost drops the magazine because he isn't sure if he should hide it if he plans on surprising Grimm with the idea of going to the gardens, but thankfully he doesn't embarrass himself by doing so at the last minute. Instead, he'll set it back down on the table so that he can step over and embrace Grimm in greeting, which also allows Grimmchild to nuzzle up with their Dad too.]

I have heard that today is a significant date for humans. Saint Valentine's Day?

Yes, it is. A holiday for spending with someone you love...

[His face may have turned a little pink at that, but he decides to just go ahead and say what's on his mind here.]

And, well, this is the first Valentine's we get to celebrate as a married couple together, so I think we should do something special for it, don't you?

[Oh, a gift? Well now he's very curious... but, then he remembers the magazine on the table and has a better idea.]

Later. I was thinking maybe we could go somewhere nice first before we exchange gifts?

Of course. Did you have somewhere particular in mind?

I do... but I don't want to tell you what it is yet until we get there.

[He wants to keep it a surprise for as long as he can.]

Whatever you have chosen, I am certain it will be delightful.

[Grimmchild is the one who deserves the real credit, at least as far as picking a place they should go.]

Oh? By all means.

[Even if it's very rare that Grimm bothers to wear anything, Danny happens to like it when the other does deign to dress up, because somehow he manages to look fashionable no matter what.

And for other reasons that he is not airing out loud in front of the child, but he will explore these reasons later when he and Grimm are alone.

In the meantime, Danny steps back out of the embrace to allow Grimm to go do whatever he needs to do to dress up here. He should probably do the same in some regard himself, once he's certain that Grimmchild is taken care of here.]

[Thank you for not scandalizing the baby. Grimm heads to their room, and Grimmchild nuzzles Danny's hair for a moment before floating off to entertain themselves.

When Grimm returns, it's in a red and black patterned tailcoat. No pants, he couldn't find any that looked good with it.]

How do I look?

[Danny definitely does a bit of a double-take when he realizes that Grimm is only wearing the tailcoat and no pants, but... not in a bad way. Grimm manages to make that look good--really good, in fact.]

You look stunning. That pattern matches you nicely.

[Danny hooks his arm around Grimm's here as they step out, and begin the journey to where Danny wants to take him to. It's not a very far walk at all from where they live, so Grimm will be able to very quickly figure out where they are going once an outcropping of trees comes into view, and the signs pointing to the community gardens on display as Danny explains.]

There's a new garden that they've planted here recently, and I thought you might like getting to see some of the new flowers and plants they've put in.

There is nothing I like better than a walk with you in the gardens.

[Takes Danny's hand to squeeze it lightly.]

[Danny squeezes his hand back.]

Good, I'm happy to hear that. Let's go.

[The gardens are indeed very lovely, with brand new flowers for people to observe. Most of them are very bright and colorful, likely not the type of plants Grimm would have been able to find in a place like Hollownest back home. The people who are tending to the plants here are even allowing people to take a few home as a Valentine's special, so Grimm is allowed to choose whichever ones he would want to take home and keep if desired.]

[They're quite beautiful, even if Grimm spends almost as much time looking at Danny as looking at the flowers.

He finds a thornless rose and tucks it behind Danny's ear.]

Aww, you're too kind.

[But, Danny will find one as well, and this one he fixes onto the front of Grimm's fancy tailcoat he's wearing here. Much better.]

Perfect. I desire nothing more than to become the kind of overly affectionate couple that embarrasses our child.

[Grimmchild isn't even here and they're embarrassed.]

Children have a sense for these things, if we're sappy enough.

Oh my, is that right? In that case, we may have to be careful not to overwhelm them too much with second-hand embarrassment.

[Do not let the child die of second embarrassment from their sappy parents]

They'll be fine. It's something they'll have to get used to now that we're married.
