[Before the tweels walk away to obtain her drink order, Azul ends up whispering something to them first, and then proceeds to actually sit across from Evangeline proper rather than continuing to stand hovering nearby like he had been before.]
Have you discovered anything else of interest during your stay here?
[Oh, actually joining her properly this time, that's new.]
Did you know that people without innate magical abilities can technically overblot in certain circumstances? You need a lot more emotion involved than someone inherently magical would, but it's possible.
We could, yeah. It shouldn't happen, because the level of emotion required is so high. But it's especially bad when they do, because getting them to use up their magic to tire them out and turn them back to normal isn't an option.
[In other words, they'd probably be stuck like that.]
how did I go this long without adding the glasses push to his icons
I do want to stress how unlikely this is to happen here - the kinds of things that historically have caused non-magical people to overblot are, like. Watching a loved one die in front of you, or having your life's work made meaningless, or things like that. Not to say that the breakdowns that lead to other people overblotting aren't bad, but they're not 'my entire life is ruined' bad.
[That gets a slight quirk of his lips turning up here, almost in a smirk.]
Speak for yourself--I'm sure someone like Riddle would tell you that he thought his life was ruined for a good minute there when he was overblotting, knowing the kind of person he is.
[... Azul also thought that too, so this is a pot calling the kettle black statement, but--he isn't going to point that out yet.]
[He starts to open his mouth to note that she should include herself in that statement of people they should be worried about here, but then the rest of what she says stops him short.]
You think that I'm a good guy?
[When has he ever done anything to warrant that as a compliment??]
You went out of your way to treat me generously even after I made you uncomfortable. You care about Floyd and Jade despite their difficult personalities - I can tell because you have a particular smile when I'm telling them stories and they're really enjoying it. You work hard at everything you do, and I think that's really admirable.
[Thank God Floyd is not here, he would probably burst out laughing or start making fun of Azul for having momentarily blushed at such a nice compliment. But Azul quickly coughs and adjusts his glasses, quick to regain a semblance of cool.]
Thank you for the compliment... it's good to have someone finally have a pair of working eyes around here when it comes to my good points.
[... Of course he couldn't help but end up having something smarmy tacked onto the end.]
[And that seems to be the twins cue to return with her drink... as well as one for Azul it seems, though it's hard to tell if it's also alcoholic or if he picked something else to drink for the time being here.]
Finally--I do hope that you enjoy the drink you picked out.
And so things continue for a while. Evangeline keeps visiting the lounge, building up points and telling more stories. The days are peaceful, or at least, as peaceful as they ever get in Night Raven College.
Today is not that kind of day.
The sound is probably the first sign something is wrong - a dull roar that comes from deeper in the Octavinelle dorm. Shortly thereafter, a message from Crowley, short and to the point: someone summoned something they shouldn't have, and the dorm needs to be evacuated. The plan is to trap the creature there after everyone has gotten out and keep it contained until professionals arrive to deal with it.
That's probably fine. At least, Azul's classmates have no problem whatsoever with getting the hell out of a dorm with a rampaging monster in it.]
[Yes, Azul's classmates have no qualms about getting the fuck out as soon as they are told to do so.
... Azul himself on the other hand... not so much apparently, as he and the twins are standing in front of the doors to the Lounge.]
The plan is to hold them off from making contact with the Lounge--we cannot afford to allow it to rampage inside and break any of our goods. Do whatever you feel you need to do to stop them in their tracks, or direct them into heading down a different path in the dorm until reinforcements arrive. Are we clear?
""As you wish, boss.""
[The twins are in agreement--albeit, Floyd perhaps having a bit more excitement about fighting a monster right now than the other two at the moment. Regardless, the three of them have their magic pens out to attempt using magic to keep the monster from reaching where they're guarding the Lounge entrance.]
[They won't have to wait long for it to show up. The monster is big - a dozen eyes and nearly as many mouths on an amorphous form. Whoever summoned this thing is in so much trouble later - but that's for later.
Azul happens to be closest to it, which means that Azul gets to be the lucky one first with a sharp claw directed at his face.]
[The monster will be hit with a blast of fire from their magic pens, attempting to shoo the monster back from making further contact with Azul as he ducks briefly to try to avoid the claws and flames.]
[Oh, that's... not great. Because even if there are three of them, they will eventually end up low on magic while keeping the monster at bay, or at least end up in range where using anything more puts them close to overblotting if they get careless.]
Damnit... this thing is proving to be more difficult than expected...
[This is probably the time when they should flee, but Azul is stubborn, despite how much of a bad idea it is to stay put...]
[They should absolutely run, because this thing is very grabby and very bitey, and it could easily turn very bad very quickly-
-and that's the lounge doors opening from the other side. Evangeline has a gleaming white scythe that's as big as she is and wastes absolutely no time in putting herself in between the three of them and the monster.]
We're going to talk - [she swings her scythe and slices into the monster's skin, and it cries out in pain and tries to bite off her head, but she dodges out of the way] - about this later-
[Azul looks like he wants to interject to that--it's not like he did anything wrong!!--but that's when Jade actually steps in and puts a hand over Azul's mouth before he can potentially say something rude.]
"Of course. Thank you for coming to our aid, Miss Evangeline."
"Yeah, kick it's ass Angerfishie!"
[Floyd is also more than happy to let her take over from here, since he's low on magic and does not have any interest in trying to keep going despite that.]
[Fine with her. She moves with the efficient grace of someone who's done this many, many times before, striking when she can and dancing just out of the range of its claws and teeth.
It takes a bit, but the monster's movements slow down, turning more and more sluggish, before it finally collapses to the floor. It's not dead, just too injured to fight anymore, and she watches it for a wary moment more before turning to the three boys.
Her grip on her scythe is tight enough to turn her knuckles white.]
Which one of you decided to ignore the evacuation?
[Is what Azul responds with, once he carefully pushes Jade's hand away from his face. The other two nod, but... it is entirely possible they would have stayed even if they had not agreed with the plan, given their odd relationship with Azul here.]
And also maybe Azul being a little too prideful as the house warden to just flee without even trying to protect an important part of his dorm.]
There are many irreplaceable items kept inside of the Lounge. Not to mention that the Lounge itself in general is a symbol of pride for Octavinelle, so it's worth protecting on behalf of the rest of my dorm as it's leader.

[Hmm...]
In other words, that means even someone like Yuu or... well, you, could potentially experience overblot here?

[That's... not good.]
I'm assuming you've already warned the headmaster about this?
a critical error

They're going to be fine. I promise.
