[It started out as a normal day: Danny had done some house cleaning, some work from home (he's taken up offering therapy over video chat for people, which is honestly for the best as it also keeps Danny from potentially slipping back into bad habits obsessing over depressed people's eyes instead of actually doing his job), and now he's gone out to get groceries for dinner.
Grimmchild is accompanying him today because it's also a great opportunity for taking the child to the park first, before hitting the store on their way home. And they had a great time! It was when they were preparing to reach the store afterward when Grimmchild happens to accidentally hit someone passing by in the face with a wing when stretching out, from where they had been riding on Danny's shoulder.
Before Danny can potentially apologize to the man, the man responds by hitting Grimmchild right back in retaliation, knocking them off Danny's shoulder as they mumble something about "stupid fucking birds getting in their way"--the man might be a little intoxicated and not thinking clearly, honestly.
But that doesn't particularly matter to Danny, because the second he realizes that Grimmchild's been struck, he's already reached out to grab the other man by the throat and--hey, they're near an alleyway, that's convenient, and turn to slam them against the wall in the provided shade of the alley where no one will see them.]
Apologize. Right now.
[The man grunts, not comprehending, until he focuses on Grimmchild nearby who has likely gotten back up now.]
"What for? It's just a dumb animal. A really ugly one too."
No, they're not. And you're going to take that back.
[A free hand has procured a knife, pointing it at the other man.]

[Well, this might be a problem. This guy might get stabbed at this rate. Maybe Grimmchild will be smart enough to look away, or... maybe go find Grimm-Dad and let them know Danny's threatening some guy.]
[Grimmchild is about to apologize themself - not that it would be understood, but Grimm-Dad raised them with manners - when the man hits them. They squeak in alarm, flapping to right themselves before they get far off Danny's shoulder.
But then - oh, Danny looks mad. And has one of those weird nails that humans use. Grimmchild doesn't think that they're equipped to calm him down, so they zip off towards the house to go get Grimm.
Even at their fastest and with Grimm's teleportation, it'll probably take a couple minutes. Good luck, random drunk guy.]
[The good news is that by the time Grimm gets there, the man has not been killed.
... Yet. Because the bad news is that he's definitely injured by the time Grimm gets there, clutching their face where blood can be seen spilling over between their fingers. It's hard to tell if Danny managed to tear their eye out yet as was his MO for murders back home, but an attempt certainly looks like it was made as the man gasps and mumbles about there being too much blood to be able to see right now. The only reason they haven't drawn attention to anyone else yet is because Danny pulled the poor bastard further enough into the alley to not be seen or heard, and as luck would have it, it's currently an hour of the day that no one particularly nosey is in this part of the neighborhood right now.
Danny doesn't even notice yet that Grimm has arrived, too focused on observing his potential victim. Who knows what was said during the scant few minutes they were alone, but it definitely looks like he's considering murder rather than just maiming the guy a little at this point.]
[Ah. That certainly is a scene that Grimm feels... some kind of way about. Danny is lovely with blood staining him, a pure protective anger in his expression...
Wait. Now's not the time to be thinking about how beautiful his husband looks.]
[Danny blinks, Grimm's voice snapping him out of his murderous haze momentarily as he turns to look at him. He does indeed have blood on him, including a splash of it on his glasses and cheek where he got hit with spatter from the man's face. He hasn't noticed yet though, or maybe hasn't given too much care about his appearance yet. He hasn't quite mentally reached "oh shit the husband caught me doing a violence" yet as he responds rather casually.]

[There's a pause, before he then makes a shrugging motion and holds out a hand in a "oh well" sort of gesture.]
Sorry I was late coming home. I had some unexpected business to take care of here first.
[He turns his attention back to the bleeding man, smiling in a friendly matter.]
Have you changed your mind yet in regards to our little disagreement? I'd like to hear what you have to say now.
[The man... doesn't really give an answer, still concerned about the fact that they are bleeding from their face and can't see. Grimm will hear him mumble something though about calling Danny a "fucking freak for attacking them over their weird dog" among their whimpering about the blood in their eyes.]

Either way, Danny reaches out to grab the man by the hair and jerks them into smacking into the wall behind them again. They yelp and momentarily let go of their face, which shows that miraculously, they actually do still have both eyes. There's a deep cut over their right eye however, deep enough that even if Danny decides to leave it be, the man is potentially going to end up blind regardless.]

[His other hand holds up the knife to the man's still functioning eye, and the man at this point seems to finally catch on that Danny very well might kill him here. He starts begging to be let go, please don't kill him, etc. etc. Danny hums loudly in consideration before he speaks.]

["Dude, it was an accident! I swear! I didn't mean to, it's not my fault--"]
I'm still not hearing an "I'm sorry" coming out of that mouth... perhaps I need to do something about that tongue of yours too... what do you think?
[He glances at Grimm, now that he finally has some context for why exactly this fight even started to begin with here.]
[Danny adjusts his grip on the man's head so that he can grip his chin instead of his scalp, proceeds to press the knife against the opposite edge at the corner of the man's mouth to prepare shoving it inward...
Finally, the man starts babbling what sounds vaguely like an "wait, stop, stop, I'm sorry, fuck, I'm sorry, stop--" around the edge of the knife and blood starting to gather and spill down his lips...
Danny finally pulls the knife back and the man slumps momentarily in relief.]
See, was that so hard? Though, I'm not sure if that apology is sincere enough for my liking, since it's possible that you might continue to bring trouble to me and my family...
[The man very quickly shakes his head back and forth, babbling something about not going to bother them or go to the cops, hell, willing to fucking leave town if it makes them happy in order to avoid them. Danny considers it, before he speaks.]
I suppose I could let you live with only this if you do just that. But I would suggest doing so as soon as possible. You wouldn't want to delay the opportunity being given here, right Mark? [Danny does some kind of hand motion that involves whipping out a wallet that it seems he managed to snatch off the person here as he glances at the driver's license in there again.] Instead of having to come pay a house visit to make sure you're keeping to your word there, I'd prefer to put this behind us just as much as I'm sure you'd like to.
[He then tosses the wallet back at the man where it bounces off his chest and falls into a puddle of blood on the ground before Danny stands proper and stretches, pocketing his knife before turning his attention to Grimm.]

[Grimm offers his arm, not minding that Danny likely has literal blood on his hands. Nor caring what the man on the ground thinks of them - he's no longer an issue.]
[Danny takes the offered arm, no longer interested in the man on the ground either--the adrenaline is starting to wane a bit, and thus he is ready to go home rather than drag out the man's suffering any longer than necessary.
Hopefully, Grimmchild is fine when they get back... if not perhaps prepared or being prevented from seeing their other dad come home with blood on them.]
[Danny gives Grimmchild a small smile, maybe even one that could be called apologetic, before he pets it's head with one of his hands that's actually surprisingly clean rather than dealing with any blood spatter.]

You know, I did consider tearing out that man's eyes for what he said... but then, I had a realization of sorts. They were far too dull to think about wanting to keep as a memento... in fact, everyone's eyes these days seem far too uninteresting, in comparison to yours.
